The route was planned to cover 10km with a circular loop from Yishun Station via Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, Yishun park, along Ave 6, Ave 9, Ring Road to Ave 2 then to the beginning of the Simpang Kiri Park Connector

Khoo Teck Puat Hospital

The newly opened Khoo Teck Puat Hospital is situated besides the Yishun Pond and is designed to be water and energy efficient. It has gardens on the ground level and upper floors with flowering plants to attract butterflies.

Yishun Park

This park was formerly a rubber plantation and the site of a village where many of the inhabitants were mainly rubber tappers. The site kept most of the original natural vegetation in the central part of the park, in contrast to the landscaped areas of the surrounding HDB housing estates. There are playgrounds for children, fitness corners, amphitheatre and multi-purpose corner (hard court area).

As we walked along the park connector, we saw a black object drifting seawards. It looked like seaweed but submerged when twigs fell nearby. Some school boys cycling on their way to prayers shouted "Anaconda", the result of watching Animal Planet.

Bottletree Restaurant

At the end of Simpang Kiri Park Connector was the Bottle Tree Restaurant where we tucked into noodles and some beer before heading for the bus stop at Sembawang Road via Andrews Ave.
